Facebook is doing its Facebook thing and changing things up a bit for publishers. After we recently noticed the schedule post button was missing for one of our clients, we took to the web to find out where it went. After two minutes of extensive research, we gave up looking and realized the answer was on our screen. Here’s the lowdown.
The scheduling button is moving over to the right side of the message box, attached to the left side of the post button. Clicking it gives you a drop-down menu with three posting options. The options offered are: Schedule Post, Backdate Post (yay, it’s back!) and Save Draft (Yay! We can save drafts!). Scheduling a post is self-explanatory and backdating a post was popular last year, before it disappeared. The newest feature in this trio is saving a draft.
At first glance, it looks like saving a draft will be great for Facebook admins who don’t work off of content calendars or teams of multiple people who manage larger accounts with a high post frequency. You can draft posts and let your team look at them from Facebook before publishing.
Chances are, Facebook will be roll these features out to more pages in the coming days or weeks. Has this reached your Facebook Pages and have you tested it? Share your thoughts.
