In my first few weeks as a social media intern here at EPIC Creative, I’ve come to find that this is not your typical coffee-fetching internship. It’s pretty, well, EPIC.
Last week, our team took some time out of our regular duties to participate in live streaming press conference about live streaming press conferences (Yes, a press conference inception). EPIC went live to introduce their new live-streaming services and I got the opportunities to both work on and witness the behind-the-scenes experience.
Looking back, I was pretty blind going into this. I thought press conferences were pretty straightforward and never really considered the process that goes on behind them.
Clearly, I was wrong.
The hard work and dedication that goes into creating the perfect setting is virtually endless. Between all the people adjusting lighting, setting camera angles, and testing the technological platforms, things can get pretty chaotic, but in the best way possible.
There was a certain energy surrounding the set and it was absolutely electric. The buzz continued right up until the countdown was complete and we were live. Throughout the press conference, the social team managed all media accounts and filtered fan responses in real time. The rush was unreal and it was over before we knew it.
Overall, EPIC’s live streaming press conference about live streaming press conferences was a success. Having the ability to share EPIC’s new capabilities live with the world is certainly the wave of the future and something I’m so excited to be a part of.
